The idea for Night Window started to gel in the summer of 2020,
and some of the essential Surrealism of that summer broke into the story we started to write -- the sense of time being so suddenly different in experience, the weird artifacts of sound and image that bloomed on video-call screens everywhere. So Night Window has some connection to the basic schizophrenia that’s been our collective home for twenty-two years months.
Speaking of that, we wrote this script over Zoom, in about eight months. More drafts took more time, but you get the idea. And, to be clear: we met every week -- we still do -- to hash out plot, different lines of story, character, the questions of why-does-that-go-there, again, and tell jokes --
Night Window
A road trip in which getting lost on the way to a memorial is the least of their problems.
